Spring Chick Challenge ~ Week 2 Goals

As the first week of the challenge nears an end, I’m wondering if the scale will be my friend come Monday morning when I weigh in. I sure hope so. But who can tell with these things. I know that I was successful at completing my planned work outs. Well almost, I have not yet touched the treadmill today so I still have to get my 6 miles in for the week. I’ll get to it later today or perhaps tomorrow. One of the side effects of adding strength training into my workout routine is that my legs are still killing me from the Wednesday squats. Killer! The area that concerns me is my calorie intake. When I reviewed my calories for the week over at myfitnesspal.com it seems that I’ve been under my net caloric requirements. I’m thinking that this is going to have a negative impact on my weigh in, but I suppose I’ll just have to weight (no pun intended) and see.

Overall I’m pleased with my performance this week.

By the way below is a picture of me in my favorite jacket…it’s kind of tight! Sidenote: I’m loving my weave…it’s so freeing to be able to workout and go. Wet hair pulled back into a ponytail is not a hot look! Well hot mess, but that’s not the looking I’m going for these days.

Here is what I’ll be doing next week…pretty much a repeat of week one.

This week I’ll also be focusing on eating more fruits and vegetables.

What are you doing this week to achieve your fitness goals?

Success takes support

I know that we’re only two days into the New Year, but so far I’m pleased with my behavior. I’ve managed to stay within my calories for the day and I’ve completed my planned workout.

I also completed my first strength training session of the year. The gym was packed as one might expect on the second day of the year. The weight room was particularly busy but I did not let those guys intimidate me. Seriously, I’m not intimidated by the people – I’ve always been intimidated by the process of strength training. I’ve always known that I needed to add it to my workout routine. However, I’ve never really felt that I knew what I was doing in the weight room. I’ve had trainers in the past so my form is pretty good, my problem has always been what should I do and in what order. So I took to the internet to help me design a plan that would work for me and I came across a 3 day Whole Body Toning Workout that seems doable. I’ll be strength training on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. The other days I’ll be preparing for the big run in May.

Today my workout was great and not just because I completed what I had set out to do – it was great because mylover worked out with me. We always go to the gym together but when we get there we parts ways. It was really nice to work with him today. He’s very supportive of my goal.

Who is supporting you to success?  I hope you have a cheerleader as good as mylover.
